That person could be someone we interact with on a routine basis, or, it could. Be someone we’ve never met.

It’s a great time for us to remember our female influencers; and to then honor their accomplishments, as well as our own accomplishments (past, present, and future) by refocusing, resetting, and renewing any goals in life that are really important to our growth and wellbeing. ❓What's the best piece of professional advice you've received?🖊 This was a really hard question to answer. It’s between “Pick one thing and do it well” and “stop second guessing yourself”. Both of these reminders helped reinforce that I needed to focus in on the innate skills that support what really engages me professionally; and that I needed to focus in on applying that skill to tasks, initiatives and goals that relate to my everyday here at Empyrean.

A lot of what I have learned in my job has been through trial and error.

While that may not sound “fun”, it can help solidify learning, provide a catalyst for discovering new approaches, and give a whole new level of confidence in our work.❓What got you interested in working in technology?🖊 I didn’t initially start out looking for a job in technology. My educational background was in music and business. Once I accepted the job at Empyrean, the challenge of learning new approaches to tackle complex problems through technology had me hooked.

I have always enjoyed a good puzzle, and the world of technology is definitely that!❓Who is someone that is inspiring you today?🖊 Someone who is inspiring me today is my friend Peggy Powell. She doesn’t work in technology, but she is someone I look up to for her confidence in her field and her drive to learn and do better each day. 🖊 Black history month is a time of recognition and celebration. Looking back at the men and women who paved the way for African Americans and those who continue to pave the way to this day. Celebrating the freedom, the hope we were given due to our ancestors.

They spread their message, not with just their words, but also with their actions. They are showing other African-Americans a better way forward.
