As far as I can tell clerics mages and rogues (!) will never be able to do as much single target damage as fighters and rangers (and to a lesser extent paladins) due to extra attacks. Rogues may get lots of bonus dice on sneak attacks but when I'm attacking 4 times per round as a fighter/ranger without having to set up combat advantage / stealth, there's no contest. Also from what I can see, while the numbers on spells look kinda cool, mobs have extremely high hit points compared to that, so an expertly placed fireball's only going to take off 5-10% of the HP of some stuff (unless it's awful vulnerable minions) and then you're gonna hang out for 40-200 seconds.

The later game gear is pretty fucking crazy. You can get 4+ pieces of gear that increase your critical range by 3+ so you're basically always critting regardless of your class/weapon. Stacking cooldown reduction is another insane thing.

My cleric has something like -70% cooldown reduction and can keep a group alive through all sorts of pandemonium. Or stack gear and get +20 to cantrip damage and do hilarious damage with your cleric/wizard (though nothing compared to ranger).Of course the point of the game is the story and not being able to wreck mobs and your DM can just make it arbitrarily difficult, but still it feels extremely weird. Especially because in D&D, having a higher critical threat is a huge deal. In 3/4E you would pay a feat to spec into scimitars which did less damage but critted on holy shit a 18 19 and 20. God forbid you get a keen scimitar and become a veritable font of destruction.

Start game, talk to JASME KYE in the NW corner (I just quickly tap 'A' until the dialogue is over). Exit the Wretched Worg, choose your party members, and fast travel to MANTOL-DERITH. Upon arrival you will be awarded 1,200 xp. Level Up (if/when applicable). Save and Exit.

Rinse and Repeat.I stumbled upon this completely by accident when I noticed that you gain 1,200 xp right at the beginning of the game with very little action required. I did this 6 times make sure it worked and reached level 5. This makes starting either camapain on HARD easier (if that's your thing). The loading time takes a while, but this is still faster than gaining levels in an RPG with no way to grind.
