King was furious and vowed to find the culprit, but was unsuccessful. After that, the world was engulfed in war, and King had all but given up looking for Marduk's attacker when he received an invitation from Marduk to join him in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. If they both participated in the Tournament, perhaps the Armor King imposter would show up again.

With that slight hope, King decided to join the tournament.Character Data.Strategy Guides. King, being a pro-wrestler for a living, excels with his throwgame. He has got a myriad of throws in his arsenal that has so much damage potential. His Tombstone (db,f+2+4) is the strongest throw in game in terms of raw damage (58 damage).

Giant Swing (f,hcf+1), a bufferable 10f throw that does 45 damage (when teched on open ground), is crazier when King's back against the wall, as it does 71 damage when he splats the opponent at the wall. His Shining Wizard (f,f,F+2+4) looks nearly exactly like GS and gives nice oki as well.

His multithrows, particularly his Arm breaker (CD+1+4), Standing Heel Hold (CD+2+3) and Mexican Magma Strings (JGS 1+42+3) are the strongest multis in the game, and it takes precious time on the clock too. And we're not even talking about his bufferable Rock Bottom (FC db, d, DB+1+2), Tijuana Twister (f,hcf+2), and his classic Muscle Buster (qcb+1+2), all throws doing respectable damage.Not only that, but King doesn't need all those throws to deal great damage as he can also get damage from other things. First, his high and mid pokes are excellent. King's f+3:1+2 attack throw does too good of a damage for a safe mid poke and his f+4 tracks both ways, wallsplats, and has a nice pushbask on block (plus is only -9 which is practically safe against every character except for Kunimitsu). His df+12, df+2, b+1 and b+2 strings are all safe and DELAYABLE.

You can do a lot of fun things for this strings and they do respectable damage on their own, but adding the part that you can buffer his throws out of it makes it pretty scary. His b+1 can also be used as a CH hunting tool and along with its follow-up (b+1, 2), it becomes his 12f punisher with 41 damage (too good damage off 12f punish, and also the range is fabulous). His CD+4 is also a good CH-hunting mid and his hopknee and FC df+2(5) are all great launchers which can be used for both punishing and crushing attacks. His plethora of great punishers, CH-hunting tools and his backward JGS (b+3+4), along with his great juggle damage, makes him a great baiting and turtle character.But with all of his great tools, King's lack of a fast low attack cripples his pressuring game greatly. His db+3 and FC df+1, though useable (and very good on their own), is pretty slow and seeable to be used as a lead low poke, and his ali kick (d+3+4) and df+4 are too risky for their given reward. This glaring weakness hurt his pressure game, as his opponents won't have a reason to duck, where King's mids really shine.

It really hurts him too that he'll have a hard time breaking turtling players who can break throws and stay away from his lethal range. King needs to rely on his strong throws to substitute for lows, but as strong as they are, they are not guaranteed damage. So, as a King player, you need to be opportunistic to get all the damage you can get, whether through CH baits, punishes or setups (and his strong damage output on pokes really help) and as pressuring opponents, you should use throws with varying breaks to make your opponent a hard time breaking your throws, or set up your lows to be a threat.

The second (and current) King appears in Tekken 3through Tekken 7. King was inspired by the legendary Japanese prowrestler known as Tiger Mask, who also inspired the creation of a manga(1968). King was also inspired by real life Mexican wrestler Fray Tormenta, aCatholic priest who became a masked wrestler in order to support an orphanage.The original King wasonce a ruthlessstreet brawling orphan with no care in the world except fighting. During one ofhis fights, King was grievously wounded and collapsed in front of a monastery.The Marquez Priests saved him from death. After recovering, King realized theerror of his ways and resolved to start a new life. He became a Catholic priestand renounced his old fighting ways.

He then became a man with a mission; hedreamt of building an orphanage for street children, hoping to save them frombecoming the kind of person he used to be.King has oneproblem, however. He lacks the necessary funds to achieve his dream. Kingdiscovers The King of Iron Fist Tournament and hopes to win the prize money.King enters the tournament and manages to get third place, winning enough prizemoney for the orphanage. King opened his orphanage, which became verysuccessful. After a child died in his care, King became depressed and, giving uphis jaguar mask, returned to the street and became a raging alcoholic. He wouldhave perished had he not been convinced by his old rival, toagain wear the jaguar mask and join The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2.King trained intenselyand recovered from his alcoholism.

He battled Armor King at the tournament andlost. After the tournament, King participated in both pro-wrestling and martialarts tournaments to win money for his orphanage. He also taught his fightingskills to the children under his care as a means of self-defense. Sometime lateron, the God Of Fighting, was awakenedfrom an ancient ruin in Mexico by Heihachi Mishima's Tekken Force. Ogre attackedseveral martial artists around the world, including King, who was killedafterwards.'

King II' was a street urchin who was brought up in a Mexican orphanage owned by the originalmasked fighter. By the age of 24, this wrestler worked hardwith King until one day, news broke of King's tragic death. Seeing that theorphanage would crumble into ruin (the money gained from King's wrestlingmatches was the only funding received), this man donned the mask of King andimitated his style. Unfortunately, he had only seen King's wrestling moves as achild, and he lost every competition he entered.

One day however, another manwith a mask visited the new King, introducing himself as an old friend. This manrevealed himself to be Armor King, who was interested in finding out if therumors of a new King were true.For four years the twoof them trained, and the new King learned quickly; maturing into a forcefulwrestler with extreme power, known as King the Second.

By this time, the now 28year old wrestler was a worthy heir to the throne, however he longed to punishthe one responsible for the original King's death. With rumors of the 'Godof Fight' circulating, Armor King revealed to his student that the elusiveentity was the one most likely responsible. Armor King watched as the new King,fueled with rage, set his sights on avenging his foster father's death andproving himself worthy of wearing the mask.Before theevents of Tekken 4, King discovers that his mentor and foster father,Armor King, was killed in a bar fight. King pledged on ArmorKing's grave that he would seek revenge against the man responsive forhis mentor's death. The man was currently serving time in an Arizona StatePenitentiary. With the money he saved from professional wrestling tournaments,King arranged for the murderer's release from prison and sent him a planeticket.

With his plans in motion, King headed for the Tournament to awaithis sworn enemy, the Vale Tudo fighter.King is later enraged to find out that Marduk has been defeating opponents in ablack jaguar mask (identical to Armor King's), and he has issued a televisedchallenge to King for The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5. Seeing Marduk disgracehis master, King steps into the ring once again to settle the score once and forall. He defeats Marduk once again and the two develop an unlikely friendship foreach other.Surprisingly, a friendshipbetween King and with Craig Marduk developed during the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.At the end of the previous tournament, King caught wind of an attack uponCraig. He blew a gasket when he heard the assailant looked exactly likeArmor King. 'Who in the hell would do such a tasteless imitation?!' King was determined to learn the true identity of Craig's attacker.During that time, King heard the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 would soonbe held. In everysequel to Tekken, he always added some awesome new moves. Thankfully,King's opponents also always take good 'bumps' during King's throws (ala the great animation of Tekken), so his throws always look spectacular. In myopinion, King is oneof the best tributes to pro-wrestling the genre has ever seen, as he can performmany iconic WWE moves, and even moves from other fighting game wrestlers! I'dsay King hasthe smoothest, flashiest, and most brutal wrestling moves out of any fightinggame wrestler in existence. I can't think of much that he lacks as a design.All I know is, I can't ask for much more out of a well-rounded fighting gamewrestler. King is a really fun character to useif you master his moveset, and I'd highly recommend learning him to anypro-wrestling fan (Along with ).On a side note: If Ihear one more person refer to King as 'that guy with the lion-head'. Iswear I'm going Rock Bottom their candyass.
